First, let us dive into six sigma green belt training. Who is eligible to apply for this certification? Quality analysts, engineers, and system managers come first, then come students of engineering and management plus anyone who is looking to apply six sigma principles to his or her job.
The course includes history of six sigma, ability to problem solve, how to study statistical data, six sigma tools, how to measure the success of a manufacturing process, clearly defined steps of how to control and better the manufacturing process, how to meet customer expectations by improving product quality and ensure little delivery time.
Anyone who has three years of experience can opt for this course. This work ex only includes full time and paid employment. Therefore freelancing and internships do not count even if these were gainful employment. Once a student is enrolled in the green belt course he or she will be taught how to problem solve in any organization.
A six sigma green belt will know the value of six sigma, and what value addition he or she is bringing to the job with his or her six sigma skills. A green belt knows clearly the structure of his organization, and that is important because only then will he know how his inputs, outputs, and feedback affects the entire organization.
A green belt holder would also know what drives the business. This could be the profits, the share of the market owned by the company, and how customer satisfaction is to be attained.
There are two business models. One is DMADV ( define, measure, analyze, design and verify) and other is IDOV ( identify, design, optimize and verify) and the green belt holder knows both, and how they can be used to bring about the best possible end product. This certification also helps one know what happens when a certain product fails or when a process fails. Also, what factors should managers consider before they go for a project? Challenges that a business faces are also identified in this course. One also learns the important best practices that every business or enterprise should take into account.
Customer satisfaction is at the core of the teachings in the course. Customer feedback is highlighted to be very important. This can be gathered using review forms, apps which seek customer ratings for their product or service and how these means to collect customer information really work. For example, does a phone call to the customer work better or does a feedback form. Communication with the client remains the key no matter what the instrument of communication.
Project planning tools are taught about, how to correctly document the project is also taught, and finally, assessment of project performance is done. This is done by tracking performance indicators. The project is then closed by the six sigma green belt holder and lessons learned are then used to improvise on the quality of the product or the service provided and the cycle thus continues.
