Six Sigma Master Black Belts have great expertise in six sigma application. They are highly trained individuals in six sigma practices and are expected to have sufficient experience to not only demonstrate their skills in six sigma but also train and mentor other black and green belts.

Six Sigma Master Black Belts should bear good presentation and leadership skills. They are the ones who lead the implementation of six sigma in their organization and devote their 100% in maintaining it. They constantly monitor the six sigma performance in their organization and ensure that its practices are consistently followed by all the underlying departments in its true sense. In some organizations master black belts also hold role of champions as well. While in others, they are more inclined towards coaching roles and assist champions in the company that represent top level hierarchy of the company.

Six Sigma Master Black Belts play an important role for success of six sigma in any organization. Their great leadership abilities act as an inspiration for the black or green belts trained under them. Master Black Belts should be great motivators as well.
  • Business Knowledge Expertise: Master Black Belts should be experts in the business domain of the organization they are working with. When they have this expertise, they are better equipped to guide others during important phases of process improvements. By having business knowledge, they can easily help black belts as well as assist champions in aligning company’s strategic objectives with six sigma quality objectives. This ability allows them to convince investors to allocate sufficient funds towards six sigma application and keeping them on track during crunch times.
  • Change Leadership: Master Black Belts should be innovative and facilitator of good change. They should take good changes positively and advice others to take them positively as well. They should always check room to improvise and keeps continuous improvements process going at the highest priority. They set good change leadership examples for others, which is helpful in taking the organization to the next level.
